WARSAW PRESENTATION

The following text is an adaptation of the transcription of the audio CDs of the Conference 2005.

From the Polish Capital there have been present: Ms. Marta Wisniewska from the Association of Young Journalists POLIS and Ms. Ewa Liszcz from the NGO Viridarium Group. Due to the political change of the government there have been no representatives of the city of Warsaw present.

The NGO, in which Ms. Liszcz is being active, fights against anti-Semitism and xenophobia. Publishers, journalists and scientists get used to the problematic of anti-Semitism during seminars and meetings and the public is being informed about the intercultural and religious issues of Poland.

Ms. Wisniewska presented the main project of the organisation: Young persons are being made more sensitive to the aspects of human rights during workshops. Furthermore the NGO is working together with the film festival of human rights of the Helsinki Corporation for Human Rights.

Trainer: Dagmara Baraniewska is Polish; she lives in Warsaw and is freelance trainer, mainly in the fields of discrimination and women’s rights.
